mini canvases

Got some tiny canvases from Dave last week, decided to make some tiny collages last night. It's good to break out of your comfort zone every once in a while to get the creative juices flowing. Each one is just 7cm squared.
New Designers is next week! I will be exhibiting alongside a group of fellow Portsmouth Universrity Illustration graduates from the 6th of July to the 9th. Come by and check us out, if you can! It's gonna be a great show.

even more dinosaurs oh my goodness!

Clockwise from top-left we have Pteradactyl, Ankylosaurus (one of my childhood favourites), Triceratops and Plesiosaur. This is the second set I will be selling.
And here we have Kronosaurus, Styracosaurus, Parasaurolophus and - granddaddy of all modern birds - Archaeopteryx! This is set three.

I will keep going until I run out of dinosaurs, or at least until I run out of cool ones. I might be wary of doing too many aquatic ones in future as they require me to break the formula a bit.
I wonder if I could make a living off of just selling cute paintings of dinosaurs. I would if I could.

I set up an Etsy store a little while ago but there's nothing on it yet. A group of us are raising funds to pay for the New Designers expo in London at the moment so most of what I'm making at the moment is going to be sold at local shows. After that's all over I'll put these up on Etsy, along with some other things.

argh.

This has been me, all this week:
It's AWFUL. This is probably one of the worst cases of creative block I've ever suffered from. I'm gonna go out today and buy a bunch of little canvases and just paint dinosaurs and cityscapes until I feel better.

more cupcakes and more dinosaurs

I had so much fun painting those dinosaurs the other day that I decided to paint a whole set of em. I think these would make nice adornments for a child's bedroom wall:
I also painted some cupcakes because everyone loves cupcakes. These have sold pretty well in the past, so...
All of these are on 8x8" canvases. I'll put them all up for sale at some point.

Also here are some sketchbook pages because I always assume everyone wants to see these for some reason:
Keep on bein' cool, Cool Dudes.

a new thing, and an old thing

I recently rediscovered a 12" by 12" canvas that I've had knocking about since October. Figured I'd paint some cute dinosaurs on it.
I've also came across something I made at university, just before I started my second year, that I'd totally forgotten about. It is a postcard made out of one week's worth of junkmail sent to my parents' house.
