A few little things

I made a comic a couple weeks ago:
I used to make autobiographical comics like this a lot, but stopped a little while back. It was pretty fun to go back to it, just for a moment!

Here's my response to the theme "Strong Island" for an upcoming local exhibition called "Strong Island" organised by Strong Island:

And lastly a sketchbook page for a brief called Connectivity that I painted with a fractured wrist because I am hardcore:
Happy Holidays, y'all

Hey, how are ya?

Possible cover page for my dissertation:
Made just now because I am just SO SICK of WRITING. UGH.

And hey, here's some more pages of Down Your Street, my Sketchbook Project 2011 sketchbook, because why not:

Down Your Street, or Blatant Procrastination 2

A brief glimpse into my entry into The Sketchbook Project 2011, in which I am documenting things I have seen or found in and around my street:

blatant procrastination

Hello! Would you like to see some more sketchbook pages? I haven't had time to do much else by the way of visual work lately as I've been focusing mainly on writing a dissertation.
As usual, you can click them for a closer look. Why do I feel the need to keep saying that? I'm sure you could figure it out for yourselves, you're bright kids.

Boy, I am an angsty fellow sometimes, aren't I? Here, check out this cute shark:

sketchbookworks

Some personal favourite pages from my sketchbook for my H.G Wells-inspired tunnel book, "Man":

bookworks

This is a book that I made. It is called "Man", and it is inspired by The Time Machine by H.G Wells:
The plate on the cover is made of copper, with the text sandblasted on. All the pages are made of card and the visuals made with card and ink. It is a tunnel book which needs to be opened up fully and looked through like a window to be read in its entirety.

The text is taken from Norman and Jeanne MacKenzie's The Time Traveller: The Life of H.G Wells and reads "Man is only temporarily dominant on a planet which is itself doomed." The visuals on each page represent a different era in time, beginning in 1895 and ending with a representation of the Earth in its final days.
Some of my favourite pages:

"Why Do They Have To Flaunt It?"

This project is called "Why Do They Have To Flaunt It?" and is about the potential causes and consequences of prejudice against young sexual minorities - An issue I feel strongly about.
The pieces are inspired by spot illustrations intended to accompany text.

These five images describe some of the factors (bullying, desire to conform to one's peers, preconceived ideas of gender roles and family values, strict religious teachings, underrepresentation of sexual minorities in schools) that can make a young sexual minority feel that they aren't normal, and make them feel pressured into changing who they are to who they think they should be.
Many homosexual people will force themselves into straight relationships in order to conform, which can be a very sad and lonely existence indeed. :(

zine project

Hello!

As a group, a few of us have been working on a zine on the theme of Inventions. Here are my contributions:

Click for big.
I really got to play around and have some fun with these. My pieces are not usually quite so overtly silly.
I'm yet to see what everyone else in my group has come up with for their pages but I'm expecting quite an eclectic mix of stuff.
Should be cool to see.
